AI Emotion-Aware Call Routing Engineer

About the role

The routing decisions you'll help build affect tens of thousands of calls every single day, deciding in real time which agent a frustrated or anxious caller gets connected to. Fast-moving team, big problem, we need someone who ships and iterates quickly rather than over-engineering. The team you'll join runs speech emotion models in production already; the product is call routing that adapts based on detected caller emotion instead of a static queue. What we expect from you is to help extend our emotion classifiers and wire their outputs into the routing logic, learning the production speech stack hands-on as you go.

Responsibilities

  • Extend emotion classification models for live call audio
  • Wire emotion signals into the call routing logic
  • Support experiments comparing routing strategies
  • Monitor classifier performance across accents and languages
  • Document model behavior for the routing team

Requirements

  • 0-2 years in speech, audio ML, or applied NLP
  • Familiarity with PyTorch and Hugging Face
  • Interest in real-time audio processing systems
  • Strong fundamentals in classification and evaluation
  • Eagerness to learn a production speech stack quickly
