About the role

Ethics hotlines receive thousands of reports per year — misconduct allegations, financial irregularities, safety concerns, HR complaints. Today, compliance teams manually read every report, categorize it, assess severity, and route it to the right investigator. It is slow, inconsistent, and burns out the humans doing it. We automate triage for ethics and compliance case management systems. Our classification models categorize reports, flag high-risk cases for priority routing, detect duplicate or related reports that should be handled together, and generate structured case summaries that investigators can act on immediately. As a junior developer, you'll maintain and extend the classification and summarization pipelines. You'll write the data processing code, maintain model evaluation scripts, and help build the connectors that integrate our platform with the case management systems our 80 corporate clients use. A senior compliance engineer and a senior NLP engineer will guide your work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and extend ethics hotline report classification models
  • Build case deduplication and related-report clustering features
  • Implement case summary generation from unstructured complaint text
  • Write and maintain evaluation scripts for classifier accuracy and coverage
  • Build integrations with ethics case management platforms
  • Document pipeline architecture for client compliance audit requirements

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python development experience
  • Basic familiarity with text classification or NLP concepts
  • Comfort working with sensitive data and maintaining confidentiality
  • SQL skills for data extraction and analysis
  • Detail-oriented approach with strong written documentation habits
