About the role

Our clients include automotive and electronics manufacturers running plants with hundreds of reconfigurable stations, and layout changes today take weeks of manual planning. We're building a simulation environment where a reinforcement learning agent tests factory layouts against throughput and safety constraints before a single machine gets moved. You'll work on-site with our manufacturing partners several days a month, pairing your simulation results against real floor data captured through computer vision. Reliability matters — a bad layout recommendation costs a client real downtime, so every simulated result needs to be validated against actual sensor readings before it ships.

Responsibilities

  • Build reinforcement learning agents that evaluate factory floor layouts
  • Validate simulation output against computer vision floor sensor data
  • Travel to manufacturing partner sites to calibrate simulation assumptions
  • Partner with plant engineers to translate constraints into simulation rules

Requirements

  • 5+ years applying reinforcement learning or simulation to physical systems
  • Experience with computer vision for spatial or sensor validation
  • Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites periodically
