AI Freelance Writer Quality Scorecard Engineer

About the role

We work with over 80 freelance writers, and quality varies enough that editors spend more time rewriting than editing for some contributors. This role builds the scorecard system that scores submitted drafts against our style and accuracy standards before an editor ever opens them, so editors can focus their time on writers who actually need the help.

Responsibilities

  • Build a scorecard system scoring drafts against style standards
  • Calibrate scoring against editor judgment on a sample set
  • Track scorecard accuracy over time

Requirements

  • 1-3 years working with NLP or text scoring models
  • Attention to detail on writing quality signals
  • Comfortable working with editorial teams
