AI GPU Thermal Throttling Predictor

About the role

We just onboarded our largest training customer yet, and their workloads are pushing our GPU clusters into thermal throttling more often than we'd like, silently slowing down jobs nobody realizes are affected. Mivex Cloud already handles cluster scheduling and spot instance arbitrage across multi-cloud GPU infrastructure. What's missing is a way to predict thermal throttling before it happens and route jobs around it, instead of discovering the slowdown after a customer complains about job duration. You'll build the predictive model and the scheduling hooks that act on it, working across our GCP and AWS GPU fleets, with direct visibility into how it affects real customer training jobs.

Responsibilities

  • Build a model predicting GPU thermal throttling risk before it occurs
  • Integrate throttling predictions into existing cluster scheduling logic
  • Route jobs proactively around predicted thermal hotspots
  • Monitor prediction accuracy against real throttling events
  • Report findings and impact to the infrastructure leadership team

Requirements

  • Strong Kubernetes and Docker experience with GPU workloads
  • Experience with both GCP and AWS infrastructure
  • Background in predictive modeling for infrastructure or hardware systems
  • Comfort working with time-sensitive production incidents
  • Track record shipping infrastructure improvements under pressure
