AI GPU Utilization Forecasting Engineer

Max Dubois

Full-time · Job · Denver

About the role

Our customers spend more on GPUs than on everything else in their cloud bill combined, and roughly a third of that capacity sits idle. Kolvex Cloud already forecasts CPU and storage spend well. GPU workloads are different: training jobs are bursty, inference traffic is spiky, and reservations are expensive to get wrong. You'll build forecasting models that predict GPU demand per cluster and per team, then feed them into our reservation and scheduling recommendations. The team is five engineers and a product manager, all remote, shipping every two weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Build forecasting models for GPU hours across training and inference workloads
  • Ingest Kubernetes scheduler and node telemetry into reliable Airflow pipelines
  • Partner with product to turn forecasts into reservation and rightsizing recommendations
  • Measure forecast error per customer and own its improvement quarter over quarter

Requirements

  • 3+ years building forecasting or capacity models in production
  • Good working knowledge of Kubernetes and how GPU scheduling works
  • Experience with GCP or another major cloud's billing and usage data
  • Comfortable writing maintainable Python pipelines

Benefits

  • Fully remote, US and Canada
  • Stock options and annual refresh grants
  • Home office stipend of $1,500
  • Health, dental and vision coverage
