About the role

Did that $500K ad campaign actually generate incremental sales, or would those customers have bought anyway? Attribution models say the campaign drove $2M in revenue. Incrementality testing — using geo-holdout experiments and causal inference — says the true lift was $400K. The $1.6M difference is the gap between correlation and causation, and most marketing teams are making budget decisions based on the wrong number. Our incrementality testing platform designs, executes, and analyzes geo-holdout and switchback experiments that measure true causal lift. You'll build the experiment design engine that selects matched geographic holdout regions, the synthetic control estimator that infers what would have happened without the campaign, and the power calculator that tells marketers how long they need to run the test. The measurement science team is four people. You'll be the senior engineer who combines econometric rigor with production engineering, building a platform that makes causal measurement accessible to marketing teams who don't have PhDs in statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Build experiment design engine for geo-holdout and switchback tests
  • Implement synthetic control and diff-in-diff estimators for causal lift measurement
  • Create power calculators for experiment duration and budget planning
  • Design matched region selection for geographic holdout experiments
  • Validate lift estimates against randomized control trial results
  • Make causal measurement accessible to non-technical marketing teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years in causal inference, econometrics, or marketing measurement
  • Deep expertise in synthetic control, diff-in-diff, or geo-experimentation
  • Strong Python or R skills with statistical computation libraries
  • Experience with geo-spatial data and matched market selection
  • Ability to translate causal inference concepts for marketing audiences

Benefits

  • Fully remote with flexible schedule
  • Competitive salary plus performance bonus
