AI Industrial Robot Calibration Engineer

About the role

Have you ever wanted to build AI systems that actually go to production in a factory — not just demos in a controlled lab environment? At Daeva Tech, we're replacing manual robot calibration routines with vision-based, self-supervised alignment models. Our clients are automotive and electronics manufacturers who can't afford calibration downtime. As the AI Industrial Robot Calibration Engineer, you'll develop vision models that detect positional drift in robotic arms, design the self-calibration feedback loops, and work with our MLOps team to deploy these models at the edge on industrial hardware. You'll collaborate with robotics engineers who know the physical constraints and with factory IT teams who own the deployment infrastructure. This is a contract engagement with a 6-month initial scope, renewable based on delivery milestones. The right candidate thrives in ambiguous environments and can translate manufacturing domain knowledge into model design decisions. Remote-friendly with optional travel to client sites for initial model validation runs.

Responsibilities

  • Build computer vision models for detecting positional drift in robotic arms
  • Design self-calibration feedback loops that integrate with existing PLC systems
  • Package models for edge deployment on industrial compute hardware
  • Work directly with robotics engineers to validate calibration accuracy metrics
  • Document model assumptions and calibration tolerance thresholds

Requirements

  • 5+ years ML engineering experience with computer vision focus
  • Experience deploying models to edge or embedded hardware
  • Proficiency in Python and PyTorch
  • Background in robotics or industrial automation is a strong advantage
  • Comfortable with Docker-based deployment workflows
