About the role

As a fully async team spread across 7 time zones, we believe great engineers can work from anywhere — as long as their code ships reliably and their analysis tells the truth. This role is fully remote, but it requires someone who communicates proactively and documents decisions thoroughly. Our social intelligence platform maps influence networks for PR and communications teams at 180 enterprise clients. The core product answers: who influences whom on a given topic, how does information spread through a network, and which voices have outsized reach beyond their follower count? The current approach identifies influencers by follower count and engagement rate — table stakes. We want to model actual information propagation, tracking how content moves through networks and identifying the connectors who bridge clusters. You'll build the graph ML layer: designing node and edge features from social interaction data, implementing influence propagation models, and building the ranking algorithm that surfaces the most impactful voices for any given topic or crisis event. You'll own this capability end-to-end, reporting to our Head of Analytics Product.

Responsibilities

  • Design graph ML models for influence propagation and network analysis
  • Build node and edge feature engineering from social interaction datasets
  • Implement topic-conditioned influence ranking algorithms
  • Develop APIs that expose influence network insights to the product frontend
  • Create evaluation frameworks for influence model accuracy
  • Monitor model performance as social network dynamics evolve

Requirements

  • 5+ years in data science or ML with experience in graph analytics or social network analysis
  • Hands-on experience with graph neural networks or network analysis at scale
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Experience with large-scale social data processing
  • Ability to translate network analysis outputs into business-relevant insights
