About the role

Accounts payable teams at mid-size companies process 3,000 invoices per month — matching each one against purchase orders, delivery receipts, and contracts. Mismatches mean someone overpaid, got the wrong quantity, or approved a charge they shouldn't have. Our AI catches these discrepancies before payment goes out. As a junior developer, you'll work on the matching logic: extracting structured fields from invoice documents, comparing them against PO databases, flagging discrepancies by type and severity, and building the exception queue that AP teams use to investigate flagged items. Financial accuracy work rewards precision. A decimal point in the wrong place means a client overpays by $10,000. You'll build confidence in production financial automation by learning how accounting workflows actually function — from purchase orders through three-way matching to payment approval.

Responsibilities

  • Extract structured fields from invoice documents using AI
  • Build matching logic comparing invoices against purchase orders and receipts
  • Flag discrepancies by type and severity for AP team review
  • Maintain the exception queue and investigation workflow interface
  • Monitor extraction accuracy and track reconciliation success rates
