About the role

Knowledge bases rot. The moment you finish building one, the information starts going stale: products get discontinued, team members change roles, policies get updated, and new topics emerge that nobody thought to document. Our platform fights this decay by continuously monitoring source documents and surfacing knowledge base entries that need updating. As a junior developer, you'll build and maintain the change detection pipelines that compare knowledge base content against source documents. When a source document changes, your system figures out which knowledge base entries are affected, generates update suggestions, and routes them to the right person for review. It's part NLP, part workflow automation, and part detective work. The knowledge management team is four engineers. You'll pair with a senior developer for your first two months, focusing on the NLP components that detect semantic drift between sources and knowledge entries. By month three, you'll own the change detection module for one of our three largest clients.

Responsibilities

  • Build change detection pipelines comparing knowledge bases against source documents
  • Implement semantic similarity checks to identify stale entries
  • Create update suggestion workflows that route to appropriate reviewers
  • Write tests for change detection accuracy and false positive rates
  • Monitor pipeline health and fix processing failures
  • Maintain documentation for change detection modules

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python development experience
  • Basic understanding of NLP concepts: embeddings, similarity, text comparison
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and REST APIs
  • Interest in knowledge management and content quality
  • Ability to work methodically through edge cases
