AI Lease Abstraction Automation Engineer

About the role

You'll be the third product engineer on a team of nine, working directly with the head of product on our lease abstraction tool used by commercial real estate portfolio managers. Our clients manage hundreds of leases each, and today abstracting key terms like renewal dates and escalation clauses is still mostly manual. Reliability and auditability are non-negotiable in this industry — a missed renewal clause can cost a client real money — so every abstraction our system produces needs a clear trail back to the original lease language it was extracted from.

Responsibilities

  • Build RAG pipelines that extract key lease terms from documents
  • Design audit trails linking extracted terms back to source language
  • Partner with product to prioritize the highest-value lease clauses
  • Validate abstraction accuracy against manually reviewed leases

Requirements

  • 3+ years building production RAG or document extraction systems
  • Strong SQL skills for structuring extracted lease data
  • Experience in real estate or legal document processing a plus
