About the role

Our data grows faster than our lawyers can read it. Breva AI processes thousands of legal briefs, court filings, and regulatory submissions every week, and we need an NLP engineer who can build the summarization layer that sits between raw documents and actionable insights. You'll build fine-tuned summarization pipelines using transformer-based models, evaluate output quality with both automated metrics and attorney feedback loops, and iterate on prompt strategies for different document types — from 200-page discovery sets to 3-page motions. You'll work closely with our legal tech product team and directly with practicing attorneys who will tell you exactly what a good summary looks like. Breva's tools are used by boutique litigation firms and in-house legal teams across the US. The summarization engine you build will reduce attorney review time and directly impact billing efficiency. This is NLP with a clear user and a clear metric — not research for its own sake.

Fully remote.
