About the role

Have you ever wondered how legal teams catch a single miscited precedent buried in a 200-page brief before it reaches a judge? At Selvix Works, our clients are litigation firms and in-house counsel teams who can't afford that mistake. We built a retrieval engine that cross-references case law, statutes, and prior filings in seconds. This role owns the citation verification pipeline end to end, from parsing raw legal text to flagging outdated or overturned precedents before a filing goes out. You'll work directly with our legal domain experts to encode rules that hold up under scrutiny from opposing counsel and sitting judges. Every flagged citation needs a clear, auditable trail back to its source document, and reliability here is treated as a non-negotiable requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the citation parsing and cross-referencing pipeline
  • Partner with legal domain experts to encode citation validation rules
  • Design retrieval flows over case law and statute databases
  • Track citation accuracy metrics and drive down false negative rates
  • Ship audit trails that trace every flagged citation to its source

Requirements

  • 5+ years building NLP or retrieval systems in production
  • Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines and vector retrieval
  • Comfortable working with legal or regulatory text corpora
  • Strong Python skills with LangChain or similar frameworks
  • Experience deploying containerized services on AWS
