AI Legal Deposition Video Indexing Engineer

Emma Garcia

Full-time · Job · New_York

About the role

We're building the next generation of AI-powered compliance tools and need an engineer who can turn hours of raw deposition footage into searchable, timestamped transcripts. Litigation teams currently spend days scrubbing through video to find the exact moment a witness contradicted themselves, and our clients have asked us to fix that. You'll design the indexing pipeline that links spoken testimony to exhibit references and prior statements, then expose it through a search interface paralegals actually enjoy using. The role reports to our head of product and works closely with two other engineers who built our clause-extraction models.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the video-to-transcript indexing pipeline
  • Design retrieval logic linking testimony to exhibits and prior filings
  • Work with paralegal power users to refine search relevance

Requirements

  • 3+ years building nlp or retrieval systems in production
  • Experience with rag pipelines and vector search
  • Comfortable reading legal terminology without a law degree

Benefits

  • Fully remote position
  • Health and dental insurance
  • Annual legal-tech conference stipend
  • Equity in a growing legal AI company
