About the role

Last-mile delivery is the most expensive part of logistics, and our AI makes it cheaper. Our route optimization platform serves 8 delivery companies, planning 200,000 daily deliveries across 30 cities. The models consider traffic patterns, time windows, vehicle capacity, driver preferences, and real-time disruptions — then produce routes that consistently beat human planners by 15% on cost. You'll work on the core optimization engine: demand forecasting to predict package volumes, clustering algorithms to group deliveries into efficient routes, and the ML-based cost estimator that evaluates route quality. The feedback loop is immediate — we compare AI-planned routes against actual delivery outcomes every day. Operations research meets machine learning. If you know what a traveling salesman problem is and also know how to train a neural network, you'll enjoy the blend of classical optimization and modern ML that defines this role.

Responsibilities

  • Build demand forecasting models for daily delivery volume prediction
  • Design clustering algorithms for efficient delivery route grouping
  • Develop ML-based cost estimators for route quality evaluation
  • Analyze AI vs human route performance and identify improvement areas
  • Collaborate with operations teams on constraint modeling and business rules

Requirements

  • 3+ years in ML or operations research
  • Strong Python skills with PyTorch and scikit-learn
  • Experience with optimization or combinatorial problems
  • SQL and Spark skills for large-scale logistics data analysis
  • Interest in logistics, supply chain, or operations research
