About the role

Radiologists read 40-80 studies per day. Some are urgent — a pulmonary embolism, a stroke, a pneumothorax — and waiting 4 hours in the queue can cost a life. Our triage system scans every incoming study, flags critical findings, and bumps urgent cases to the top of the worklist within 90 seconds of image acquisition. The detection models are strong on common pathologies but struggle with rare conditions and subtle findings that experienced radiologists catch through pattern recognition built over decades. You'll improve sensitivity on these edge cases while keeping the false positive rate low enough that radiologists trust the system instead of ignoring its alerts. The medical AI team is eight engineers. You'll work alongside two radiologist consultants who review every model change against clinical standards. This isn't a move-fast-and-break-things environment — patient safety requires rigorous validation before any model reaches production.

Fully remote.

  • 3+ years in medical imaging or computer vision ML
  • Experience with classification and detection on medical image data
  • Strong PyTorch skills with understanding of model sensitivity analysis
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards: DICOM, HL7, or FHIR
  • Comfort working within FDA-regulated development processes

Benefits
