AI Merge Queue Prioritization Engineer

About the role

PyTorch is not the core of what we build here, developer productivity is. Engineering teams using our platform routinely have dozens of pull requests queued for merge at once, and naive first-in-first-out ordering wastes CI capacity and blocks urgent fixes. We're building a prioritization model that reorders the merge queue based on risk, urgency, and CI cost signals, and we need someone to own this end to end, from the scoring model through the queue orchestration logic.

Responsibilities

  • Build a scoring model that prioritizes pull requests in the merge queue
  • Integrate risk and urgency signals from CI history and code ownership data
  • Design queue orchestration logic that respects prioritization scores
  • Track merge queue throughput improvements after rollout

Requirements

  • 5+ years building developer tooling or CI/CD infrastructure
  • Experience with model tracking tools such as MLflow
  • Strong Python and containerization skills
  • Understanding of merge queue and CI pipeline mechanics
