About the role

We're building the next generation of embedded analytics tools, and one problem keeps coming up across customer accounts: two dashboards showing "revenue" that don't agree, because two teams defined the metric differently months apart. You'll build the system that detects these conflicts automatically by comparing metric definitions and their underlying SQL logic across a customer's dashboards in both Tableau and Power BI, then surfaces a clear reconciliation report. This role blends real engineering with genuine detective work in semantic layers that have quietly drifted apart over years of ad hoc changes.

Responsibilities

  • Build the metric definition comparison engine across Tableau and Power BI sources
  • Write SQL logic parsers that detect semantically conflicting metric definitions
  • Design the reconciliation report format used by customer analytics teams
  • Work directly with customers to validate flagged conflicts are real

Requirements

  • Strong SQL skills, including comfort parsing and comparing complex query logic
  • Experience with both Tableau and Power BI at a production level
  • Python experience for building comparison and reporting tooling
  • Experience with semantic layers or metrics governance a strong plus
