AI Metrics Anomaly Root Cause Analyst

About the role

Wevio Systems builds embedded analytics tools for SaaS products, and our clients' users depend on our dashboards to understand what's happening in their business. When a metric moves unexpectedly, those users want to know why — fast. Right now, root cause analysis is a manual process. We need a junior analyst who can help us change that. In this role, you'll work alongside a mid-level data scientist to build automated anomaly root cause pipelines. You'll analyze anomaly examples from client datasets, develop statistical decomposition methods that identify the contributing dimensions, and help build the data layer that shows users a plain-language explanation of why a metric changed. This is a first or second job role. We value curiosity, a solid statistical foundation, and the willingness to ask questions. You'll learn how a product analytics company works from the inside. In 12 months, performance-based advancement to mid-level analyst is a realistic path.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze anomaly examples from client datasets to identify root cause patterns
  • Develop statistical decomposition methods for metric change attribution
  • Build labeled training datasets for anomaly root cause classifiers
  • Contribute to the data layer powering plain-language anomaly explanations in the UI
  • Document analysis methodologies and contribute to the internal analytics playbook

Requirements

  • Basic Python and pandas skills
  • Solid understanding of descriptive statistics
  • Familiarity with SQL for data exploration
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Prior data coursework, internship, or analytics project experience
