AI Multi-Language Receipt OCR Engineer

About the role

We're building the next generation of receipt digitization tools for expense platforms operating across a dozen languages. Our current OCR pipeline handles English cleanly but falls apart on receipts from mixed-script regions. This role is about closing that gap: extending our vision models to reliably parse totals, taxes, and line items regardless of the language or layout on the page.

Responsibilities

  • Extend OCR models to handle multi-script and mixed-language receipts
  • Improve line-item and tax extraction accuracy across formats
  • Build evaluation datasets covering underrepresented languages
  • Deploy model updates through the FastAPI extraction service
  • Monitor extraction accuracy in production and triage regressions

Requirements

  • 5+ years in computer vision or document AI
  • Experience fine-tuning OCR or vision-language models
  • Familiarity with multilingual text extraction challenges
  • Comfortable owning a production FastAPI service end to end
