AI Multilingual Content Adaptation Developer

About the role

Translating content is not the same as adapting it. A marketing email that performs well in English may fall flat in Japanese not because of translation errors but because the cultural references, tone, and persuasion patterns do not transfer. Content adaptation goes beyond translation — it rewrites for cultural resonance while preserving brand voice and commercial intent. Our content platform serves 280 global brands who publish in an average of 11 languages. The machine translation layer exists and works well. What is missing is the cultural adaptation layer: models that flag culturally inappropriate references, suggest locally relevant alternatives, and rewrite brand messaging for cultural fit while maintaining measurable quality. You will build the adaptation intelligence pipeline: the cultural appropriateness classifiers, the suggestion engine for alternative phrasings, and the brand voice consistency checks that ensure adapted content still sounds like the brand.

Responsibilities

  • Build cultural appropriateness classifiers for content from 6 target markets
  • Develop suggestion engine generating culturally adapted alternative phrasings
  • Implement brand voice consistency scoring for adapted content
  • Create evaluation framework using native speaker reviewer ratings as ground truth
  • Build feedback loops from reviewer corrections into adaptation model improvements
  • Design API layer for content platform integration

Requirements

  • 3+ years in NLP engineering with multilingual or localization system experience
  • Experience with Hugging Face multilingual models and cultural NLP research
  • Familiarity with LangChain or LLM orchestration frameworks for generation tasks
  • Strong Python and API development skills
  • Cross-cultural communication awareness and sensitivity
