AI Multilingual Voice Bot QA Engineer

About the role

Our voice bot speaks 14 languages, and each one can break in unique ways. A German customer saying "Ja" might get recognized as English "Yeah" by the wrong ASR model. A French user's postal code gets mangled because the TTS mispronounces digits. A Japanese honorific triggers an intent misclassification. These bugs don't show up in English-language testing — you have to look for them specifically. As a multilingual QA engineer, you'll build the test infrastructure that catches these language-specific failures before they reach customers. That means designing test suites for each supported language, creating synthetic test conversations that exercise language-specific edge cases, and building automated regression tests that run on every model update. The voice platform team is eight engineers, but nobody currently owns multilingual quality full-time. You'll be the first dedicated QA engineer for international languages. Native multilingualism isn't required — what we need is someone methodical who can build test frameworks and work with our language consultants to define what "correct" means for each locale.

Responsibilities

  • Build automated test suites for voice bot quality across 14 languages
  • Design synthetic test conversations for language-specific edge cases
  • Create regression test pipelines that run on every model update
  • Track quality metrics per language and identify degradation trends
  • Work with language consultants to define correctness criteria per locale
  • Report and triage language-specific bugs to the engineering team

Requirements

  • 1+ year in QA engineering or test automation
  • Python scripting skills for test framework development
  • Basic understanding of NLP concepts: ASR, TTS, intent classification
  • Systematic approach to test design and bug reproduction
  • Interest in multilingual technology and internationalization
