About the role

New users sign up for our AI platform and immediately face a blank canvas. They know they want to automate something, but they don't know where to start. Our onboarding flow uses conversational AI to understand what the user wants to accomplish, then guides them step-by-step through their first working automation — turning a confused signup into an activated user in under 10 minutes. As a junior onboarding flow designer, you'll optimize the conversational experience: testing different question sequences for intent discovery, measuring completion rates across user segments, analyzing where users drop off and why, and iterating on the prompts and flows that convert sign-ups into active users. Onboarding is the most important product experience because it only happens once. A confusing first experience means the user never comes back. A magical first experience means they bring their team. You'll measure success in activation rates and time-to-first-value, and every improvement you make compounds across thousands of new users per month.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize conversational onboarding flows for user intent discovery
  • Test question sequences and measure completion rates across user segments
  • Analyze drop-off points and design flow improvements to increase activation
  • Iterate on prompts and conversation design for first-time user experience
  • Track activation metrics and time-to-first-value across onboarding variants

Requirements
