AI Onboarding Flow Usability Scorer

About the role

Our design systems and prototyping tools are strong, but we've never had a way to objectively score whether a new onboarding flow will actually confuse users before it ships to real customers. You will build a model that analyzes session recordings and interaction patterns from usability tests, scoring flows on hesitation, backtracking, and drop-off likelihood, so designers get feedback in hours instead of waiting on a full user research cycle. You'll partner closely with our UX research team, whose existing test recordings become your primary training signal, and with product designers who will use your scores directly in their review process.

Responsibilities

  • Build a model scoring onboarding flow usability from session recording data
  • Partner with UX research to source and label historical usability test recordings
  • Ship scoring as a tool designers can run before a flow reaches full user testing
  • Validate scores against actual downstream drop-off and support ticket data
  • Iterate on scoring criteria based on designer feedback

Requirements

  • 3+ years building ML-powered product tooling
  • Experience with computer vision or interaction pattern analysis
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Comfortable collaborating closely with designers and researchers
