About the role

Our analysts spend 6 hours a day reading reports, cross-referencing entities, and building intelligence briefs. We want to cut that to 2 hours by automating the repetitive parts — entity extraction, source correlation, timeline construction — while keeping the human in the loop for judgment calls. You'll build the automation layer that sits between raw data sources and our analyst workbench. Think of it as an intelligent preprocessing pipeline: it ingests unstructured text from dozens of sources, extracts named entities and relationships, links them to our knowledge base, and surfaces the most relevant findings for human review. The output isn't a finished report — it's a structured draft that an analyst can verify and refine in minutes instead of hours. The stack is Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL, with LangChain for LLM orchestration. We deploy on AWS with Docker. The team is four engineers and six analysts, and you'll work closely with both groups to understand what actually saves time versus what looks cool in a demo.

Responsibilities

  • Build NLP pipelines for entity extraction and relationship mapping
  • Design automation workflows that reduce analyst research time
  • Integrate multiple unstructured data sources into a unified processing pipeline
  • Create structured output formats that feed directly into analyst tools
  • Implement quality checks to flag extraction errors before human review
  • Iterate rapidly based on analyst feedback on output usefulness

Requirements

  • 3+ years building NLP or text processing systems in Python
  • Experience with named entity recognition and relation extraction
  • Familiarity with LangChain, OpenAI API, or similar LLM tooling
  • Solid SQL and API design skills
  • Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and iterate quickly
