About the role

The recommendations you ship will be used by over 200 podcast producers every week to find guests worth pitching. Fast-moving team, small scope, clear deliverable. Two of us built the current producer dashboard; you'll build the recommendation layer that suggests potential guests based on topic fit, audience overlap, and past booking success. The product is a lightweight tool producers open daily between episodes, not a heavy platform with dozens of features. We expect you to ship a working recommendation prototype within your first few weeks and iterate based on producer feedback rather than waiting for a perfect dataset.

Responsibilities

  • Build a guest recommendation model based on topic and audience fit
  • Iterate on recommendations using producer feedback
  • Maintain the recommendation API used by the dashboard
  • Analyze booking success patterns to improve ranking
  • Ship weekly prototype improvements

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with recommendation systems
  • Comfortable working part-time with async communication
  • Basic Python and SQL skills
  • Interest in media or podcasting a plus
