About the role

Podcast editors spend 3-5 hours per episode on repetitive tasks: removing filler words, normalizing loudness across speakers, cutting dead air, adding intros and outros, and generating show notes. Our automation platform handles 80% of this workflow — but the remaining 20% is where quality separates professional podcasts from amateur ones. We need an engineer to improve our automated editing pipeline: better filler word detection that doesn't clip legitimate pauses, cross-talk handling that preserves natural conversation flow, and dynamic loudness normalization that adapts to different recording setups. Each improvement gets A/B tested against human editor output — if listeners can tell the difference, it's not good enough. This is a 5-month freelance engagement, 25-30 hours per week. You'll work with our audio research scientist who designed the current pipeline and our product manager who collects editor feedback on quality issues.

Fully remote.
