AI Podcast Show Notes Generator Engineer

Nora Patel

Freelance · Job · Chicago

About the role

You'll be the third person on our small content tooling team, working alongside two engineers who built our episode transcription pipeline last year. Podcast hosts on our platform want good show notes fast — timestamps, key quotes, and a punchy summary — and right now a human writes every one by hand. This freelance role is focused on building and refining the generation pipeline that turns a raw transcript into show notes a host would actually publish without heavy editing. You'll iterate on prompts, test against dozens of real transcripts, and tune output until editors stop rewriting it from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Build and refine the show notes generation pipeline using the OpenAI API
  • Test output quality against a growing library of real podcast transcripts
  • Tune prompts and post-processing to reduce editor rewrite rate
  • Explore Hugging Face models for timestamp and key-quote extraction

Requirements

  • Some hands-on experience with the OpenAI API or similar LLM APIs
  • Basic Python scripting skills
  • Interest in NLP and text generation quality evaluation
  • Available for a flexible freelance schedule, roughly 15 hours per week

Benefits

  • Fully remote and flexible schedule
  • Direct mentorship from the content tooling engineers
  • Free access to all podcast platform tools
  • Path to part-time or full-time role
