About the role

An insurance carrier's most profitable moment is policy renewal — no acquisition cost, known risk profile, and established relationship. But 22% of policies don't renew, and carriers often don't know why until the customer is already gone. Our renewal risk model predicts non-renewal 60 days before expiration, giving retention teams enough time to intervene. The prediction features combine policy characteristics (coverage type, premium changes, claims history), behavioral signals (payment patterns, service interactions, quote comparisons), and market context (competitor pricing, regulatory changes). You'll build the model that turns these heterogeneous signals into calibrated risk scores that agents use to prioritize outreach. The insurance analytics team is six people. You'll be the senior modeler working with an actuary who validates risk assumptions and a retention strategist who designs the interventions triggered by model scores.

Fully remote.

  • Understanding of insurance operations and policy lifecycle
  • Ability to calibrate predictions for business decision thresholds
