AI Politically Exposed Person Screening Analyst

About the role

We serve over 200 financial institutions that need airtight PEP and sanctions screening. The person in this role will rebuild how we match politically exposed person records against noisy, multilingual name data. Reliability and auditability are non-negotiable here — every match decision needs a documented rationale that can survive a regulator's review, and false positives cost our clients real operational hours.

Responsibilities

  • Design fuzzy-matching models for PEP and sanctions list screening
  • Reduce false-positive rates while maintaining audit-grade recall
  • Document match rationale for every model decision path
  • Work with compliance leads to validate new matching thresholds
  • Maintain the Spark pipelines that refresh screening lists nightly

Requirements

  • 5+ years in financial crime analytics or risk modeling
  • Strong SQL and Spark experience at production scale
  • Understanding of AML/KYC regulatory expectations
  • Statistics background for evaluating precision/recall tradeoffs
