About the role

Spark, Databricks, and a growing fleet-routing platform are the core of what we run in production today. If you've ever tracked a shipment sitting at anchor for days because nobody saw the congestion coming, this role is for you. You'll join a cross-functional squad with defined sprints and clear ownership, working alongside our fleet routing and customer ops teams. Your job is to build forecasting models that predict port congestion days in advance using vessel tracking data, historical dwell times, and weather patterns, then feed those forecasts into our routing recommendations so shippers can reroute before costs pile up.

Responsibilities

  • Build port congestion forecasting models from vessel tracking data
  • Incorporate historical dwell times and weather signals
  • Feed forecasts into fleet routing recommendations
  • Validate forecast accuracy against realized port delays
  • Present congestion trends to customer ops teams

Requirements

  • 4+ years in time-series forecasting or logistics analytics
  • Experience with Spark or Databricks at scale
  • Strong SQL and statistical modeling skills
  • Familiarity with maritime or supply chain data a plus
  • Comfortable working in a structured sprint environment
