About the role

Our procedural animation and crowd simulation tools handle fully synthetic scenes well, but production teams keep asking for help blending CGI elements seamlessly with practical, physically filmed effects footage. You will build models that estimate lighting, grain, and camera motion characteristics from practical effects plates, then adjust CGI elements to match automatically before a compositor does final manual touch-up. This three-month contract works closely with our scene lighting intelligence team, whose existing models provide the lighting estimation foundation you'll extend to practical footage.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Build models estimating lighting and camera motion from practical effects footage
  • Adjust CGI element parameters automatically to match practical plate characteristics
  • Collaborate with the scene lighting intelligence team on shared model foundations
  • Support compositors with pre-matched CGI elements requiring less manual touch-up
  • Document match accuracy across varied lighting and footage conditions

Requirements

  • 3+ years in VFX pipeline or computer vision for media production
  • Strong PyTorch and TensorFlow experience
  • Familiarity with practical effects or live-action compositing workflows a plus
  • Comfortable working within a three-month contract engagement
