AI Product-Led Growth Experimentation Engineer

About the role

Product-led growth means the product sells itself — but only if you run the right experiments. Which onboarding flow converts more trial users? Does showing a usage dashboard increase retention? Will a proactive in-app tip reduce support tickets? Each question requires an experiment, and each experiment requires infrastructure that most startups don't have. Our experimentation platform lets PLG companies run rigorous A/B tests with proper statistical controls: sequential testing for early stopping, stratified randomization for balanced groups, and interaction detection when multiple experiments run simultaneously. You'll build the statistical engine behind the platform — the part that tells product teams whether their experiment actually worked or if they're looking at noise. The growth tools team is five engineers. You'll own the statistical testing module, working with the frontend developer who builds the experiment dashboard and the data engineer who handles event collection. Every statistical decision you make — power calculations, correction methods, stopping rules — directly affects whether our clients ship features that help or hurt.

Responsibilities

  • Build the statistical testing engine for the experimentation platform
  • Implement sequential testing with valid early stopping rules
  • Design interaction detection for concurrent experiments
  • Create power calculators and sample size estimators
  • Build automated experiment reports with clear statistical interpretation
  • Support client data science teams on experiment design questions

Requirements

  • 3+ years in experimentation, statistics, or data science
  • Deep understanding of A/B testing methodology and common pitfalls
  • Experience with sequential testing, multiple comparison corrections, or causal inference
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Ability to explain statistical concepts to product managers
