About the role

Kafka, Spark, and Kubernetes are what we build on every day. If duplicate event storms in a distributed system sound like a fun problem, keep reading. You'll design deduplication logic that runs inline in our streaming layer, catching duplicate events from retries and network partitions before they corrupt downstream aggregates. Fast-moving team. Big problem. We need a contractor who can ship a working prototype in the first month and iterate from there.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Design inline deduplication logic for the streaming layer
  • Reduce duplicate event rates in downstream aggregates
  • Instrument deduplication metrics for observability dashboards

Requirements

  • 5+ years with distributed streaming systems
  • Deep experience with kafka and spark
  • Comfortable working independently on a contract basis
