AI Retail Basket Affinity Analyst

About the role

Our mission is to help mid-size grocery and convenience retailers compete with chains ten times their size using the same kind of data intelligence. This role focuses on basket affinity: understanding which products tend to sell together so store planners can improve shelf placement and promotions. You'll pull and clean transaction data with SQL, build affinity and lift analyses in Python, and turn the results into Tableau dashboards planners actually open every week. It's a great first analyst role if you want to see your work change what's on a real shelf within a month of shipping it.

Responsibilities

  • Write SQL to extract and clean point-of-sale transaction data
  • Build market basket and lift analyses to identify product affinities
  • Publish and maintain Tableau dashboards used by store planning teams
  • Partner with category managers to validate findings against real store constraints

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying large transactional datasets
  • Basic Python and pandas skills for data analysis
  • Some experience building dashboards in Tableau or a similar BI tool
  • Interest in retail and consumer behavior data
