AI Returns Fraud Detection Analyst

About the role

You'll be the third fraud analyst on a team of nine, working directly with the returns operations group. We already have a solid transaction dataset and a working anomaly baseline, but no one has built a model that separates serial returners from genuinely dissatisfied customers. We publish internally and encourage you to read the retail fraud literature before implementing anything — this is a role for someone who wants rigor, not just a quick heuristic. Your models will directly influence which accounts get flagged for manual review.

Responsibilities

  • Build classification models that score return requests for fraud risk
  • Document methodology for internal research review
  • Collaborate with returns ops to validate flagged cases

Requirements

  • 3+ years in fraud or risk modeling
  • Solid grounding in statistics and scikit-learn
  • Comfortable presenting findings to a research-minded team
