AI Robotic Bin-Picking Vision Engineer

About the role

PyTorch, real-time computer vision, and Kubernetes-orchestrated inference are the backbone of what we run on factory floors across three continents. Daeva Tech builds vision systems that let industrial robots identify, grasp, and sort irregularly shaped parts from unsorted bins, a problem that has resisted full automation for over a decade. You'll design and train models that estimate 6-DoF pose from cluttered bin scenes, then work with our robotics team to translate predictions into safe, repeatable grasp trajectories on the plant floor. Our clients run around-the-clock production lines, so reliability and explainable failure modes matter as much as raw accuracy. This is a senior, high-ownership role on a small applied vision team. You'll set technical direction on model architecture, calibration procedures, and the validation pipeline that gates every model before it touches a physical robot arm.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain 6-DoF pose estimation models for cluttered bin-picking scenes
  • Calibrate multi-camera rigs and validate grasp accuracy against physical test cells
  • Partner with robotics engineers to translate model output into safe grasp trajectories
  • Own the model validation pipeline that gates every production deployment
  • Document failure modes and edge cases for plant floor operators

Requirements

  • 5+ years building computer vision systems for robotics or industrial automation
  • Strong PyTorch and 3D geometry / pose estimation background
  • Comfortable working with physical hardware and camera calibration
  • Experience deploying models with Docker and Kubernetes in production
