About the role

Training robots in the real world is expensive, slow, and occasionally destructive. Our simulation platform lets robotics teams train manipulation policies in physics-accurate virtual environments, then transfer those policies to real hardware with minimal fine-tuning. We simulate contact dynamics, deformable objects, and sensor noise at speeds 1000x faster than real-time. You'll build the simulation environments and the sim-to-real transfer pipeline: designing physics-accurate task scenarios, implementing domain randomization strategies that close the reality gap, and building the evaluation infrastructure that predicts real-world performance from simulation metrics. The sim-to-real gap is the fundamental challenge. A policy that works perfectly in simulation might fail completely on real hardware because of unmodeled friction, sensor calibration differences, or timing variations. You'll develop systematic approaches to identifying and closing these gaps — turning simulation from a toy into a reliable training ground.

Fully remote.
