AI Schema Registry Intelligence Developer

Grayson Martins

Full-time · Job · New_York

About the role

Schema registries store the structural contracts that define how data flows between producers and consumers. Most organizations have a registry. Very few have intelligence layered on top of it: the ability to detect when schemas are evolving toward incompatibility before the incompatibility is committed, suggest naming conventions that improve consistency, or identify when two schemas are describing the same underlying entity under different names. Our data platform serves 55 enterprise engineering teams with data mesh and integration infrastructure. Schema registry intelligence is the feature that transforms a passive storage layer into an active governance tool. You'll build it: ML models that detect compatibility risk in proposed schema changes, NLP approaches that identify semantically equivalent fields with different names across schemas, and automated suggestions that help producers design schemas that will age well. This is a mid-level engineering role with clear product scope. You'll collaborate with data governance product managers and the senior engineers who own the schema registry storage layer. Your output is a set of intelligent recommendations that show up in the schema review workflow before changes are committed.
