About the role

The estimates you'll ship are used by procurement teams at mid-size manufacturers to decide which suppliers to keep and which to push toward decarbonization. Small sustainability data team, five of us, working directly with client sustainability officers who report these numbers up to their board twice a year. You'll build the model estimating scope 3 supply-chain emissions from incomplete supplier data, filling gaps with industry benchmarks where direct reporting doesn't exist, and clearly flagging estimate confidence so clients know what to trust.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Build scope 3 emissions estimation models from incomplete supplier data
  • Fill data gaps using industry benchmark datasets
  • Flag estimate confidence levels for client reporting
  • Work with client sustainability officers on methodology questions
  • Maintain the benchmark dataset as new industry data becomes available

Requirements

  • Experience with emissions estimation or environmental data modeling a plus
  • Strong Python, SQL, and statistics skills
  • Comfortable working with incomplete, messy supplier data
  • Contract-to-hire, six-month initial engagement
