About the role

When a knowledge graph changes — a new entity appears, a relationship type is deprecated, an ontology branch gets restructured — downstream applications need to know what changed and how it affects them. Our semantic versioning system tracks changes to knowledge structures and generates human-readable changelogs that explain what shifted, why it matters, and which queries might return different results. As a junior analyst, you'll build the change detection and classification pipeline. Every graph update gets compared against the previous version, changes get categorized by type and impact level, and a changelog entry gets generated that explains the change in plain language. It's part diff algorithm, part NLP, and part communication. The knowledge platform team is five people. You'll pair with a senior engineer who designed the versioning schema. Your first project is building the automated changelog generator — turning structured change records into readable summaries that client developers actually find useful.

Responsibilities

  • Build change detection pipelines for knowledge graph updates
  • Classify changes by type and downstream impact level
  • Generate human-readable changelog entries from structured change records
  • Test change detection accuracy against manually annotated graph updates
  • Maintain the change classification taxonomy as new change types emerge
  • Support client developers with change impact inquiries

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python development experience
  • Basic understanding of NLP or text generation concepts
  • Familiarity with graph data models or database concepts
  • Strong written communication for changelog quality
  • Interest in knowledge management and developer tools
