About the role

Pydantic, LangChain structured output, and JSON Schema are the tools we live in. If you've spent time making LLMs reliably produce machine-parseable outputs under adversarial conditions — incomplete responses, format drift, nested structure failures — this is the role. Emrex's core product is an LLM inference layer that enterprise clients embed in their own pipelines. Structured output is consistently our most-requested feature and also our most common source of production incidents. We need someone who understands both the model side (how to prompt for reliable structure) and the engineering side (how to validate, retry, and recover when outputs drift). You'd join a team of 6 LLM engineers, own the structured output subsystem end-to-end, and work directly with 3 enterprise accounts to validate reliability improvements in their environments.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the structured output parsing and validation pipeline
  • Design retry and fallback strategies for malformed LLM output
  • Implement schema-aware prompting templates across multiple LLM providers
  • Create benchmark suites to test structured output reliability at scale
  • Collaborate with enterprise clients to diagnose and resolve output reliability issues

Requirements

  • 3+ years in LLM engineering or applied NLP
  • Strong familiarity with LangChain, Pydantic, and JSON Schema
  • Python expertise and FastAPI for serving inference endpoints
  • Understanding of prompt engineering techniques for structured output
  • Experience debugging LLM output failures in production environments
