AI Test Environment Provisioning Developer

About the role

QA engineers spend 2 hours per day setting up test environments — provisioning databases, loading fixtures, configuring services, and waiting for everything to start. Our platform provisions fully configured test environments in 90 seconds, complete with realistic synthetic data, all services running, and API endpoints ready for testing. As a junior developer, you'll build the environment configuration templates and the data seeding pipelines that populate each environment with the right synthetic data for the test scenario. A payment processing test environment needs different data than a user authentication test environment — different schemas, different volumes, different edge cases. You'll define these configurations and build the automation that applies them. The test infrastructure team is three engineers. You'll start with the data seeding module, learning how our container orchestration provisions environments while you focus on making the data realistic and the configurations reusable.

Responsibilities

  • Build environment configuration templates for different test scenarios
  • Create data seeding pipelines populating environments with synthetic data
  • Define scenario-specific data requirements: schemas, volumes, edge cases
  • Write tests verifying that provisioned environments match expected state
  • Optimize provisioning speed toward the 90-second target
  • Document configuration patterns for QA team self-service

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python development experience
  • Basic understanding of Docker and container concepts
  • Familiarity with databases and SQL for data seeding
  • Interest in testing infrastructure and developer tools
  • Systematic approach to configuration management
