About the role

As a fully async team spread across 5 time zones, we believe great engineers don't need real-time meetings to ship great models. We already have a solid reinforcement learning stack powering our matchmaking and difficulty systems. What's missing is real-time toxicity detection for in-game chat that can run at the latency our players expect, without over-flagging normal trash talk that's part of the culture. You'll own the moderation model from research through production, running experiments on precision and recall tradeoffs before anything ships to live servers.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Build real-time toxicity detection models for in-game chat
  • Run experiments balancing precision against over-moderation
  • Optimize inference latency for live server constraints
  • Collaborate with community team on moderation policy
  • Monitor false positive rates across different game modes

Requirements

  • 3+ years in NLP or content moderation systems
  • Experience with Hugging Face transformer models
  • Comfortable with low-latency production constraints
  • Familiarity with gaming community norms and context
  • Strong experimentation and evaluation skills
