About the role

Most AI products fail not because the model is bad, but because the user experience around it is confusing, unpredictable, or annoying. We study this problem. Our research team helps AI product companies understand how users actually interact with their AI features — what builds trust, what causes abandonment, and what makes people come back. This part-time role (20h/week) is for a UX researcher who specializes in AI interactions. You'll design and run user studies, analyze interaction logs, build measurement frameworks for AI trust and satisfaction, and present findings to our clients' product teams. Ideal for someone with a UX research background who's fascinated by the unique challenges of designing for probabilistic, sometimes-wrong AI systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct user research studies focused on AI product interactions
  • Analyze interaction logs to identify trust, satisfaction, and abandonment patterns
  • Build measurement frameworks for AI-specific UX metrics
  • Present research findings and recommendations to client product teams
  • Develop reusable research protocols for common AI UX patterns

Requirements

  • 3+ years in UX research with experience studying AI or ML products
  • Python and SQL skills for log analysis and data exploration
  • Strong understanding of research methodology and statistics
  • Experience with mixed-methods research (qualitative and quantitative)
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills
