About the role

We serve 800+ enterprise procurement teams that rely on our platform to review, approve, and track supplier agreements. Most of their risk currently lives in documents that no one reads twice. You'd be joining to fix that. As our AI Vendor Agreement Risk Scorer, you'll build the models that flag exposure before contracts are signed — not after they're disputed. The role sits at the intersection of legal NLP, risk quantification, and product integration. You'll work directly with our Head of AI and three NLP engineers who've spent the last two years building clause extraction infrastructure. Now we're ready to score it. The impact is direct: procurement managers will rely on your outputs to decide whether to negotiate, escalate, or approve. Bad models mean real downstream risk. Good models mean procurement teams close deals 40% faster with less legal back-and-forth.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end development of the vendor risk scoring pipeline
  • Partner with NLP engineers to consume clause extraction outputs as model features
  • Define and validate risk rubrics with our legal advisory team
  • Deploy scoring APIs on FastAPI, monitored via MLflow
  • Collaborate with product to surface risk scores in the contract review UI

Requirements

  • 5+ years in applied ML with at least 2 in legal or contract-adjacent NLP
  • Strong Python skills and familiarity with transformer-based text classification
  • Experience translating ambiguous legal concepts into ML-trainable labels
  • Comfort working in fast-moving environments with evolving specs
