About the role

Every content team asks the same question before hitting publish: "Will this go viral?" Most answers are gut feeling. Ours is a prediction model trained on 50 million content pieces across social platforms, correlating content signals with engagement outcomes 48 hours after publication. The prediction combines content signals (topic, sentiment, structural patterns, emotional valence), creator signals (audience size, engagement history, posting cadence), and context signals (time of day, competing content volume, trending topics) into a viral potential score. You'll own the model development and feature engineering, building new signals as social platforms evolve and retraining as platform algorithm changes shift what drives virality. The marketing AI team is five engineers. You'll be the senior ML engineer who drives the prediction methodology, working with social strategists who validate predictions against their intuitions and data scientists who run the post-publication analysis that generates ground truth.

Responsibilities

  • Build viral potential prediction models combining content, creator, and context signals
  • Engineer features from multimodal content: text, image, video metadata
  • Track platform algorithm changes and retrain models as distribution patterns shift
  • Design evaluation frameworks measuring prediction accuracy at 48-hour outcomes
  • Expand prediction coverage to new platforms and content formats
  • Surface prediction insights in creator-facing dashboard tools

Requirements

  • 5+ years in ML with social media analytics or content prediction
  • Experience with multimodal features: text, image, temporal signals
  • Strong Python, PyTorch, and SQL skills
  • Understanding of social platform mechanics and creator economics
  • Track record of models deployed in real-time content decision workflows
