AI Voice Agent Interruption Handling Engineer

Brandon Kim

Full-time · Job · Denver

About the role

Our client rollout just hit a wall: enterprise voice bots keep talking over callers who interrupt mid-sentence, and it's the single most common complaint in QA reviews. Our voice bot QA and persona consistency tools already catch tone and script issues well, but interruption handling, recognizing when a caller starts speaking and yielding the floor naturally, needs its own dedicated model. You'll build and tune that detection and turn-yielding logic directly into our production voice pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Build models that detect caller interruptions in real time during calls
  • Tune turn-yielding logic so agents stop speaking naturally, not abruptly
  • Work with the QA team to validate interruption handling across scripts
  • Monitor production call data for missed or false interruption signals

Requirements

  • Some experience with real-time audio or speech processing
  • Comfortable with TensorFlow for sequence and audio modeling
  • Interest in conversational AI and voice interfaces
  • Ability to work with production call recordings responsibly

Benefits

  • Fully remote role
  • Mentorship from senior voice AI engineers
  • Health coverage included
  • Learning budget for courses and conferences
