AI Voice Memo Transcription Engineer

About the role

We're building the audio production toolkit that podcasters and musicians use to turn raw voice memos into usable project files without manual transcription. Our sound design and stem separation tools already handle the heavy audio processing well. What we need now is accurate transcription that understands musical terminology, mumbled ideas, and background noise typical of a voice memo recorded on a phone in a studio. This is an on-site role at our LA studio, where you'll work directly with the audio engineering team testing your models against real client recordings.

Responsibilities

  • Build transcription models tuned for noisy, informal voice memos
  • Handle musical and studio-specific terminology in transcription output
  • Work with the audio engineering team to test against real recordings
  • Fine-tune Hugging Face speech models on domain-specific audio
  • Ship transcription improvements into the existing production toolkit

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience with speech-to-text or audio ML models
  • Experience with PyTorch and Hugging Face libraries
  • Comfortable working with noisy, real-world audio data
  • Interest in music production or audio engineering a plus
  • Willingness to work on-site with the studio team
